Default Travel to Cuba

I'm a new resident of the Villages, and am a true travel-a-holic who has set foot on all 7 continents and visited 53 countries, so far. I have a group going to Cuba (legally) and there are a few spaces yet to fill. I'm new to this posting thing and tried to put the website, but was informed that is not permitted.
So, if anyone wants to travel to Cuba on a nine day trip beginning October 9, 2014 at a cost of $3,400.00 with most everything included, please call me at (570) 708-1111, and I will give you the official website info to review. I'd love some Village people joining us on this unique trip to Cuba!!

I thought tourist travel to Cuba was illegal.

Much less expensive to just go to Miami.

Apparently not under certain circumstances. I have a friend whose daughter just returned from a sanctioned mission trip.

I was in a chorus that went to Cuba for a 10-day tour 2 summers ago - amazing trip. Our group got a license from the US State Dept. Go if you can!!!
The longstanding ban on Cuba travel has been amended to allow all Americans to take part in tours to Cuba that encourage “people to people” contact. Previously, only religious, educational, and cultural groups could legally travel to Cuba, and then only with specific permission from the U.S. State Department.

This group has a valid US license for cultural exchange that makes it legal to travel to Cuba. It is going to be an amazing experience. Please call 570-708-1111 and leave a message. I will get back to you with the website info. It's a rare and unique opportunity!!

I wonder how many CIA agents are going on this tour?

I spent 2 years in Havana with my job in the State Department back in 1994. It was a fabulous tour. Unless things have changed since then, it's actually not the State Dept. but the Treasury Dept that you need approval from. The ban is that you CANNOT spend US $ in Cuba unless given special permission from the Treasury Dept. Of course you still need to go through STate for the Visa, but they won't give you one until you have a letter from Treasury. We don't have an Embassy there, but we do have a U.S. Interests Section, no Ambassador but a Principal Officer. And, in the reverse Cuba does not have an Embassy in the US but they do have a Cuban Interests Section in Washington.

Too often we hear about someone going to a communist country as a visitor or missionary and then get arrested for being a spy? I have no sympathy for them.
