In 30 - 32 ft Class A or C your useable living space is less the front end truck cab area of about 7 ft.

You can buy a 28 - 30 travel trailer or fifth wheel trailer and a 3/4 ton pick up to tow it for much less than the Class A or C plus a toad vehicle.

I don't know much about RVs, but the RV lifestyle intrigues me.
It's my understanding that with a trailer or fifth wheel, a person or animal can't be in it when driving, is that correct?
If a traveler wanted to make a coffee and take it to the driver, or take a nap?

For extended vacationing, you really need local transportation. That is either the truck that towed the trailer, or the car that was towed by the motor home, or a stored scooter, or motorcycle, or a rental car.

A rule of thumb is: If you're going to make camp for weeks or more, then a trailer or fifth wheel is the better choice. If you're going to move around more frequently, then the motor home is the better choice. Other factors are whether or not you already have a truck or towable car, and where you are going to keep this stuff when you are not using it.

That sounds right. We do not own a truck and really have no room in garage for one so we are better off towing a vehicle behind. Yes your wife could get up and bring you coffee if she has no balance problems maybe you want to try renting like we did?
