Smile The case of the missing refrigerator:

In todays Daily Sun, Aug. 24, 2013, on the front page of "Home & Garden", there are "before and after" pictures of a remodeled kitchen. What happened to the refrigerator? There are only 3 walls in this kitchen and I doubt that the refrigerator was put next to the stove (to the right). That wouldn't make sense. So what happened to the refrigerator?

Note: It would have been nice if the pots & pans would have been put away for the picture rather than become the focal point. It comes across as clutter and a distraction from what the kitchen looks like. Also, the picture on the left does not belong in a kitchen.

But don't get bent out of shape about my side comments. The main thing I'm wondering is: What happened to the refrigerator?

Maybe they eat out all the time? Fireboy sold our stove three years ago and I never noticed.

That's a posibility but they put cabnets and countertop where the refrigerator used to be. What if they decide to sell the house in the future? Won't prospective buyers want to know where the refrigerator is? They would have to remodel again to make room for one. And for someone who doesn't cook much, she sure has a lot of pans hanging up. Maybe she thinks those pans are works of art?

I wondered about that too. Perhaps it is built into the new kitchen island. Or it could be next to the stove...hard to tell from the photo.

I haven't seen the picture, but I have had a house with the stove next to the refrigerator. It was separated by about a 12 inch cabinet.

I am going out on a limb to say that it is to the right of the stove (like mine is). And that is not a clutter of pots and pans. They are hanging overhead so she can get to them when she needs them.

To each his (or her) own when it comes to decorating.

I've heard of people never using their oven but I don't believe I've ever heard of anyone not using a refrigerator. Even Jerry Seinfeld used his fridge.

Some modern kitchens have their refrigerator doors covered with cabinet doors so they look just like surrounding cabinets.

When my daughter was small she had an imaginary friend who frequently invited her to dinner. When I asked her why she never invited her friend to dinner, she said "I have no kitchen."
