I'm surprised nobody mentioned Blue Plate.

No, it's not. But if someone were to tell me "there's no REAL mayo available, how about Miracle Whip instead?" I'd say "never mind, I'll just make something else for supper."

Thank you. NOLA's own. Oil, vinegar, and egg yokes.

I'm about to open my first jar of Blue Plate. I don't like Duke's and if Hellman's has 60% of the American market, it must mean it's bland & flavorless in comparison to other options.

I loved the Blue Plate label, so that was my choice on my last trip to Publix.

Sorry. Long ago, my grandmother made turkey sandwiches with Thanksgiving leftovers and Miracle Whip. They were great.

As a friend of mine used to say, "what ever blows your dress up"! Meaning, there is no accounting for taste!

In our Southern kitchen it has and will always be Duke’s. Spouse grew up with MW. I had to go to a Commissary while living in the north to buy Duke’s, but worth two hour trip.

AFA Miracle Whip goes, It's a crime against humanity!
Dukes all the way. When my husband and I first got married he insisted on Hellmans. I didn't care at all what kind of mayo we used. I'm not a big fan of Miracle Whip but every so often would crave it. Once I had Dukes I never wanted another mayo. Thankfully my husband likes Dukes and Hellmans equally so was fine with switching to Dukes.

Duke's mayonnaise:
Soybean Oil, Eggs, Water, Distilled and Cider Vinegar, Salt, Oleoresin Paprika, Natural Flavors, Calcium Disodium EDTA Added to Protect Flavor.

On the Hellman's container, it simply says "ingredients derived from a bioengineered source". Doesn't say what ingredient. Hellman's is now making a vegan mayo that does not have that.

I think all mayonnaise is bland. I always add something to give more flavor. Sriracha, lemon zest, lime zest, garlic, chipotle, etc. It depends on what I am making. The added ingredient(s) turns bland into extraordinary. Therefore, I buy whatever brand is on sale.

That must be some new phrase or I've been unconscious. I've seen those words on most everything I've eaten in the last 6 months, that comes packaged.

Correct. Anyone who say otherwise should be reported to Homeland Security...

I grew up on Miracle Whip but now we use Kraft, made with olive oil. I’ve never seen/heard of Duke’s. Look forward to trying it in April!
