Default Super Bowl Food Ideas

Need "hot snack" ideas for super bowl Sunday. Here's my contribution:

8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 package pepperoni slices
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 tubes crescent rolls

Makes 72 pieces.
Bring cheese to room temp (microwave 20-30 seconds). Cut pepperoni slices into 1/4" pieces. Mix cheese, pepperoni, spices well. Set aside.
Crimp diagonal serrated edges of each roll section to form rectangles. Roll each piece width-wise to make square. Cut each square into 9 smaller squares.
Put a teaspoonful of cheese mixture in center of each square. Crimp all 4 sides of square around cheese, forming "basket" holding cheese. Put on parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes until lightly browned. Remove to platter & serve. Can be eaten warm or room temperature. Can make a day ahead...refrigerate...do not freeze well.
Cheese mixture can be made a couple days in advance (keep refrigerated) and also makes a great cheese spread on sandwiches - microwave until "melted" & spread.

Sounds yummy. Staying with the cream cheese component..........
this is an easy old time favorite that the men all love..............
and so easy that a child can do it................................................

THIS IS NOT A HOT APPETIZER..........BUT A CHILLED APPETIZER; CAN BE MADE AHEAD....

SHRIMP APPETIZER:
1 tub soft cream cheese
1 bottle seafood cocktail sauce
1 can tiny shrimp (washed, rinsed in COLD water, patted dry)
1 box Ritz or Keebler Townhouse crackers

1 good sized dinner plate

Spread the cream cheese onto the round dinner plate.

Cover the cream cheese with the seafood cocktail sauce, leaving some white at the edges......

Next, layer the "rinsed and dried" tiny shrimp on top of the cocktail sauce.

You might stick in the crackers around the edge....or serve them in basket......everyone can dip or spread their own.

It's actually a great tasting concoction and so easy........
It disappears quickly..........so either make another round plate .... or have the ingredients handy to repeat.........

Just remember to layer:
SOFT CREAM CHEESE
SEAFOOD COCKTAIL SAUCE
TINY SHRIMP

CRACKERS
