Default Steamed shrimp

When steaming(or boiling) shrimp, I always add some Old Bay Seasoning, but the best steamed shrimp is when PICKLING SPICE IS ADDED IN THE POT, really brings out the flavor.

I just read your post. I have always used Old Bay seasoning. Used it a couple of weekends ago in a shrimp boil.

I love pickling spice. I thought, hmmm. I'm gonna give it a whirl sometime. They both have cracked bay leaf as a main ingredient.

Default Shrimp

Bk, i learned from a Southern Maryland co worker yrs ago about using pickling spice, i never do shrimp without it. The flavor is fantastic. Readily available in the spice section.

Sparky, thanks for the tip. I'm going to try the pickling spice also.

I'm going to try it too. I need some pickling spice, shrimp, corn on the cob, kielbasa, salt potatoes, a little red pepper....
