I’ve heard that the old HS is going to be some type of medical office or facility. Don’t know if true.

When we came for our lifestyle preview in late 2017, all the sales focus was in Fenny. Those residential areas are beautiful, but even today it feels isolated to me. We didn’t want to be pioneers and and wanted new construction, which is why we ended up in our current location, less than 10 minutes from the current HS, but not inside the Villages proper.

Moving the HS is a continuation of the southern push which will undoubtedly draw families down that way. All the kids in my community go to the Villages schools, and most are involved in multiple activities where the parents schlep them back and forth. That 10 minute trip to pickup/drop off will turn into at least a 30 minute trip one way down 301 when the new HS opens.

Default The rumor is

I am not sure about this, but I heard somewhere, the developer, in an effort to be more socially responsible, is turning the old high school into either a half-way house for prisoners released from prison, or a methadone clinic/drug rehab center. And the other building is to become an intake center for Latin American refugees.

The high school in the Northern part of TV will be closed but the elementary will remain open. They are currently in the process of building a multi modal bridge next to the old Bexley bridge. It’ll be called the Southern Oaks bridge I believe. If you follow the Gold Wingnut on YouTube you’ll see the latest updates on construction in TV. He just put out a short 3 minute video on the new bridge.

The old school buildings will be used under UF as teaching facilities, and hopefully an on-site daycare, for employees of UF

Would hope they will create apartments for residents to be close to the hospital as their hours are long, and travel to Gainesville is more than an hour.

Thank you for any insights.

Will the new school be for Sumter county students or only the children of Villages employees?

I guess deeper pools aren’t good for water walkers, water volleyball, and other non lap swimming activities.
yes their pools are awesome . Great blue hued water

That talking point has already been resolved and I believe that former proponents of that thought have politely retired from their occupations.

Wish there was a way to add another lane to Morse Blvd north of 466.

Amazes me they did this with Beuna Vista but not with Morse
