Default 301 Congestion

We live in Hammock at Fenney and use 301 a lot. Does anyone know if they’re ever going to open up the right turn lane from northbound 301 to eastbound 44? I think that could help alleviate some of the ridiculous backup on 301.

Their too busy building sidewalks no one will use.

Clay Drain Rd can be used as a bypass to 44 at Spar.

The left turn lane is also a problem, not long enough to handle the amount of cars turning. Sometimes the center lane can’t move because there are people trying to get into the turn lane, worse when a couple semi’s want to turn. Also, I’ve seen 301 backed up way past MBT going north.

Maybe the State should redesign and enhance that intersection. While they are at it they could also resurface 44 from 301 to the Lake County line.

old designs break with very rapid growth! happens with many other systems. . .
rural florida road designs can't support the sprawling urban development is a long term concern should not be a shocker,
but a result of an independently planned community by the developer, and the external support structure is built and maintained by the state. . .

is becoming the one drawback to living in TV if you travel outside TV a lot. . .

If really backed up, Clay Drain Rd works just great.

301 is scheduled for a redo to 4 lanes in 2025.

I've observed this as well. It seems like they should at least experiment and see if increasing the left turn signal at 301/44 by 10-15 seconds during weekday afternoons might improve things.

I think we will see many changes to Wildwood in the next 5 or 10 years.

A lot of people living in The Villages south of 44 pay property tax to Wildwood every year, so I guess Wildwood is getting a lot of money from them.

Along Powell Road, which I think is the eastern boundary to Wildwood, there are a LOT of houses being built and they are starting to build a new Home Depot.

It will be interesting to see what happens.
