Aldi is a successful multinational company that adapts its stores and offerings to each different country/region. I wouldn't put them in the same category as a mom and pop store or Kmart, which was poorly run for several decades.

Half the stuff that they sell at Aldi are not sold at the same level of quality in Walmart. The prices may be about the same, but why pay the same price at Walmart for the below average quality vs reasonable quality?

I think this will be a great move for Aldi. I'm not rich enough to shop at Publix every time.

Everything is to far from Marsh Bend.

Hard to beat Walmart for prices.

So what that even mean?. No one forces you to go to WD. Overpriced Publix is always an option

You get your 25 cents back. I think it’s genius. Keeps people from leaving their carts all over the parking lot. I keep one quarter in my console & I’m never without a cart

It means it’s the impression I get when I have shopped at Winn Dixie,
which is only my opinion.
And this thread is about Aldi taking over WD.
Of course you’re entitled to your opinion of Publix

Sure does keep you from leaving your cart in the parking lot though, doesn't it.

I hate Aldis. No selection of brands. Off brands that taste like crap, galore. No bags. Meat looks weird...dark red vacuum packed. Preportioned produce no option to buy singles. It sucks.

Keep a quarter in your car. Most people I encounter in "the Friendliest Town" pay it forward as you are coming and going so you never have to deal with it which is pretty nice. I will offer the quarter and they pass so I pass as well. Oh, and remember to bring bags lol.

I bet the ones moaning the most about rising prices and inflation all shop at Publix.
Aldi shoppers doing very nicely thank you very much!

It keeps the parking lot clear of carts, unlike Walmart..

Sprouts was an interesting visit but $2 more for milk? Take that back to CA, that won't fly for homegrown FL lovers of Winn Dixie.

I've never shopped at Aldi's, and probably never will, but I gather that they take a $0.25 "deposit" to use a shopping cart?????

I always return my cart, but if I ever went to Aldi's and they treated me like a child demanding a "shopping cart deposit", I'd go passive-aggressive and leave their cart in the lot, hoping it would cost them more than a quarter to retrieve it. In fact, when minimum wage goes to $15/ hr = $0.25/minute, I'll bet it will take an employee more than 1 minute to retrieve it, especially considering how far away I would leave it. But that's just another reason I won't be shopping at Aldis

If you need a cart to shop then 25 cents would be trivial compared to the amount that was saved. The quarter isn't worth the minor hassle to retrieve it. Be a rebel. Just leave it inside the cart storage area.
