Retrieving grocery carts is job security for Publix employees. There always seems to be someone making the shopping cart rounds. They retrieve them from the cart corrals and always grab the carts that are left in the lot.

Publix offers great customer service. What other store dries their grocery carts with a leaf blower when it is raining? I've never seen any other store do that.

You do get to pay extra for that service. IMHO normally we do not need that so why pay for it.

After doing some research on Aldi's I won't be a customer as I don't support their business ideologies.

It's a shame corporations have been strong armed into adopting certain businesses practices.

I guess the old saying, "You get what you pay for" is quite true.

Europe? Those who are complaining have never shopped at Aldi.

Freedom of choice. That cart rental, I think deposit is more descriptive as you get it back when you return the cart. It seems to work well. You do not come back to your car and find people have abandoned carts expecting someone to clean up after them.
Alidis is lean and so can be cheaper. They do not supply bags unless you pay for them.

Default Nope

Do some research.
Aldi beef is all sourced from LOCAL farms…
Meat is fresh and reasonably priced. Cheese selections and quality are second to none.
Sounds like someone got scared of “different” things and didn’t shop long enough to find the gems. Frozen Scallops and Tuna that can’t be beat…

Default Wages

I don’t remember the details, but I DO remember when Aldi was looking to hire, I mentioned that I was surprised how high their wages were!

QUOTE=Two Bills;2246520]That's a bit petty.
Aldi are smart and need one less employee to gather the wayward carts.
I have no idea of Aldis wage structure in US. but in UK they are the best paying grocery chain.
That includes the 'posh' stores similar to Publix, where many shop to pay higher prices for the same food.[/QUOTE]

What are the ideologies of which you disapprove?
Who is strong-arming them?

That’s pretty sad when 25 cents is your determining factor

Wow...we have quite a few snooty, uppity folks on this site. I can see them looking down their nose at me right now.
