They will close the squares if it is too cold or too hot. You can go to the villages.com and find the info under entertainment.

The guideline had been to close for forecast temperatures below 47

Easiest and most up to date is the Phone App for The Villages (The free one with green block and TV symbol.) It posts "Cancelled" when forecast is 47 degrees or below.

click on "Calendar"
click on "Type"
click on "Entertainment"

...and there you go!

Entertainment on the Square is canceled if there is a reported electrical storm within 3 miles.

I go to the squares frequently. I’ve never seen it canceled for heat, but bands have taken more frequent breaks due to heat the last couple of years.
