While renting in Duval for 2 months, I found the people at the Duval pool to be very friendly.

Hmmm.
What brain trust is it who sit on their duffs (NOT the golf duff) and wage Junior High School war on another group of buoyant babes and boys? Mother-of Pearl. Why in the name of all that is good and tasty, would do them the honor of entertaining their critiques and sweeping generalizations of others? Come on, folks. There are people going the wrong way in roundabouts; shoppers at Publix speeding up to beat you to the register to say nothing of the folks in movie theaters who NEVER SHUT THE CAKE HOLE. You know. REAL issues. Laugh it off as these are either very narrow minded individuals with very free flopping jaw hinges or chronic chaos causers. Either way, HOW 'BOUT THOSE METS? |

When we had our Villa in Pennecamp, one of the pools, will not say, was unfriendly to "newcomers". Seems as though the regulars had their chairs marked by towels, or if you got there earlier, and sat in "their" chair, they would stand in front of you and let you know about that.
Also when we were renting in Belaire, it didn't have a pool for that Village, so we had to go to a different area to use a pool. Well, we were questioned where we lived and why we didn't use that pool in our area instead of "their" pool. Our usual answer to those individuals would be we own these pools just like you. So, some Villagers are very territorial and let you know about it. But, it is not unusual to find this and I am sure it prevails everywhere. |

I agree that some people are quite territorial, but they're the minority. We've been asked before why we were at a pool outside our neighborhood.
There's a group at our pool who meet regularly for card games and water bobbing and I must say, they do not take kindly to someone trying to swim laps amongst them! They also have chairs they absolutely consider to be theirs. They'll leave towels to save their spots even when they're not at the pool. We're on the historic side and many residents have been there for 10-15 years, so I guess it's not surprising they feel a greater sense of ownership. |

It's all those really bad people at all the other Villages pools. Everyone at our Village pool is friendly. Our's is the best.
