Default Alternative to Majic Stairs?

Just wondering if anyone has used anything instead of Majic Stairs? I’ve had the folding ladder type and know I don’t want that again. Thanks

I was not aware of any competitors so I did a BING search for "attic stairs" and it turns out there are lots of other options ($$$$), you could do some investigating, there was also a rating site that came up on this search.

Actually, once you see one and understand the principle it's a diy project of medium difficulty utilizing a section of extension latter and a small winch.

The day after I closed on the house last year, I had majik stairs installed. It works well. Why are you looking for an alternative?

The VersaLift is another option, however the vast majority of attics here in The Villages don't have the space to make this viable. Plus, you still need the ability to access the attic by an attic ladder.

A few years ago I was contacted by a rep from VersaLift who was telling how many jobs I would have by installing them here in The Villages, if I wanted to be their installer. I knew the person who was installing them locally at the time so I reached out to him. Turns out there weren't that many installs here, not to mention the time and people it takes to do the job. Not to mention the service calls when/if the device had an issue. I passed.

I looked at Versa Lift, and my problem was the size (not weight) limitation. My christmas tree is in 2 boxes over 4 feet long and Versa lift is limited to 4 feet, too bad I really wanted one of these.

I view Majic Stairs and Versalift not only for convenience but also for safety. Even though the initial cost can give you pause the more you use them the less you think about it

I had a versa lift installed the same day as the majik stairs. I am able to send up larger boxes vertically with bungy cords holding it to the frame. I use both stairs and lift regularly. It’s strange but when I have a box or item that needs to be put away, I find myself saying I’m going to put that upstairs. The stairs/lift have created a small second floor or an “upstairs.”
