Default The Tracy Performing Arts Center

Just received an email from The Villages Entertainment announcing some shows at the new Tracy Performing Arts Center. I go “where is this”? It is located on the campus of the new Villages High School. From looking at the website it looks very nice. This will be a great addition for the folks living in the new southern areas of The Villages. Here is the link if you want to check it out.

This looks like it will be a great additional performing arts venue for our growing community. I plan to buy tickets for Billy Ocean this week when they go on sale.

We have been in the Tracy for concerts, it is by far the best venue in TV.

How does it compare/differ from the Sharon?

Yes. You can get to the school by golf cart. I suggest making the trip. You will have a nice ride past all the new construction, including Eastport, and the school campus is fabulous.

Why can’t I find the Tracy on the Villages app as an entertainment venue (like The Sharon or Savannah Center). It is shown as a destination.

We attended a high school music performance last year at The Tracy. It’s a wonderful venue and it’s at a high school no less!

My first reaction was….why can’t the HS kids just have anything of their own ?? They built them a nice auditorium, and now they will have limited access!
(I can’t believe it is big enough for some of these “events”…it’s not that large!)

The Sharon seats just over 1,000
The Savannah Center seats just over 800
The Tracy seats just over 800
So, it IS that large. The difference is that it is a brand new state of the art theater - not a large room with a makeshift theater jammed into it like the Savannah Center. I also think it's great that the facility will be used in the evening when the kid's aren't in school instead of just sitting empty.
I am so excited by this announcement! Not only because of the proximity to those of us in "the south", but for the entertainment lineup - the Spin Doctors and Smash Mouth - I'm so excited! Things are changing down here in the south and I'm so happy that I don't live in my grandfather's retirement village!

Maybe keep in mind those Charter Schools were built from the profits earned from the retirement communities - just saying...

Maybe you should get more information before jumping off the deep end with your criticism.🤦
