If no golfers are on the course, who would complain in you were running on the cart path? Only a few would even know you were there.

You can book a charter fishing trip on Sumpter. The boat is docked next to the little tour boat. I think it is a 2 hour trip. On my list of things to do.

That doesn't make it right. No pedestrians on any of the golf courses, period. This has been hashed out before.

My husband has gone fishing on that boat several times. It is through Villages rec. He went last Friday and the 4 caught 35 fish.

One of the guys fishing threw down his pole and started going after the Glenview person. The fishermen’s buddy tried to stop him, and they got into a fight! The two guys got into their cart and drove across the grass onto the MMP without looking for oncoming traffic. They drove north for a few feet and the guy who was trying to fight said something like he wasn’t going to be told he couldn’t fish there and turned the cart around. Again I guess his buddy made him leave because they turned around again and headed north up the MMP.

A couple of observations and thoughts. I have seen people fishing this pond quite often. Also, if the pond is off limits to fishing, why doesn’t Glenview put up a couple of “No Fishing” signs?

Another interesting day in The Villages.
You can only fish ponds you can reach by not crossing private properties. Golf courses are private property. The ponds that are accessible from a road can only be fished from that side and not the side where there are houses.

It is $240 and you can have a maximum of 4 people. You will catch fish and is catch and release.

There are far too many folks acting like police, of some nature, just can't wait to tell others what they can and can not do. So much for "America's Friendliest Hometown".

But of course this does not apply to the elite individuals that feel rules are made only for others, surely it doesn't apply to them.

I agree. People need to relax and enjoy your retirement. I feel sorry for people who feel the need to complain about everything

Who would be considered not friendly, the person not following the rules and regulations or the person letting them know that they are not following the rules and regulations?

These days, it’s so dangerous to confront people. You’re better off letting staff address the issue.

Did you read what you quoted? "I heard some yelling and someone from Glenview was telling two guys they could not fish the pond. The discussion became quite heated! One of the guys fishing threw down his pole and started going after the Glenview person. "

Somebody from Glenview sounds like a worker from the golf course who has every right to shag trespassers off his employers property.
