Default AM Radio in The Villages

I know we can all receive The Villages' 640AM. One thing I miss since we moved here in Feb is other AM stations. We can receive 540AM and 580AM fairly well during the day, but very poorly at night. I wish we could pick up Orlando better. Actually, Tampa, in my opinion, has the best radio. We have XM radio, but still miss the local stations.

Google your favorite station's call letters to find their respective web sites. See if their sites support streaming audio. Many if not most stations stream audio these days.

For a minute, I thought you were providing a link to streaming radio for WVLG.

Is there any way to get WVLG streaming? I live in Milwaukee and will be relocating there real soon.

Cool

Use you smartphone with an app called Tunein radio and you can listen to 50,000+ radio stations around the world. It also includes AM stations.

You can plug your smartphone (or iPad) into your stereo system, so it's just like listening to your normal radio.

Cheers....

The Villages does NOT stream WVLG... I have emailed them several times to ask them to stream, but I always get a nice reply; "We have no plans to stream to the internet, at this time."

Maybe if more folks request streaming, they might reconsider. Here's the contact email:

I agree with that! The only way we can get the PBS or AM radio stations from Orlando or Gainesville is by internet. AND one added benefit for me with my tiny laptop is that I can get a variety of interesting radio stations from all over the world!
