Is there a Snowbird Club in The Villages? If not, lets do it!

Sorry, totally disagree.

1. During snowbird season, rec rooms are filled to capacity all of the time.

2. It creates another divide between frogs and snowbirds.

I wish the frogs would rejoice in the arrival of snowbirds, see the vitality they bring to this community. Personally, I'm thrilled when snowbirds return and sorry to see them go. So, please don't create something to exclude others for whatever reason.

I like snowbirds. They are a bunch of really nice people who are fortunate enough to be able to afford two homes. We socialize with many snowbirds and become attached to them and are sorry when they leave. This summer has been really hard on me with the heat. I'm wishing I were a snow bird.

We are torn between being snowbirds, or frogs. One of these days, I may get too old to be a snowbird!

A club exclusively for Snowbirds would be as ill conceived as the "Black Miss America" contest. Beauty is beauty, and people are people! We need to be generally united whether it's our Country, State, or even a "Village". Why promote another divisive element in our lives?

Are snowbirds not already separated out by the permanent resident flock in TV by not being referred to as residents or at least 'seasonal' residents? Perhaps flocking together as birds of the same feather would provide some of them comfort from the dispersions and blame so often cast their way. How would a club for snowbirds be different from the club for Canadians and clubs for the individual villages and individual State clubs?

Of course, we "all" matter but history shows us again and again divisions separate people...we need more oneness, not separation I think....but then again, it's just an opinion.

A great opinion - but - would your opinion then support dissolving the club for Canadians, clubs for the individual villages and individual State clubs because they do not promote oneness and inclusion? I think I would consider having those club options available to those who affiliate with same - diversity.

Then how about we go ahead and have the group for snowbirds, but also add one for frogs? And then we could also have one for snowbirds AND frogs to promote cooperation between the two.

I thought I was joking when I started to write this post. Now I'm beginning to wonder. Hmmm. [emoji196] [emoji213]

I like your thinking o.p. and I don't think it would be divisive if it were for snowbirds that own , not rent... After all, all owners have the same vested interests in TV but snowbirds have issues/concerns that are unique to them. Having a forum to meet, discuss and share those concerns would be a good thing!
