Glad someone understands where I am coming from. Too many people I knew who dodged the draft now bugging me to put up a flag. I may do so some day. As was pointed out, Title 4, Chapter 1 has rules for the flag. They carry force of law only in Washington DC but codify rules to be followed, not by force of law but rather by custom, for civilians. The point is to dislay the flag and don't get your knickers in a knot over the small stuff if the actions are not a result of deliberate disrespect. I know a few people who cannot afford to replace their flags as often as they like for example. For some, lowering the flag at the end of the day may be not be physically possible on some days due to medical conditons.

Vinny - don't confuse draft dodging with lack of patriotism and love of country. We all show our love of country in different ways. It is OK to support the soldiers but not the war.....
