My wife and I are moving down to the Village of Dunedin in three weeks. We are curious about the options next year for New Years Eve parties. What did you do for fun?

We have gone to City Fire Brownwood for the last 3 years.
3 years ago, was a "crazy Tux party" had a ball.
2 years ago, it was a Tux party, still had a ball.
This last year, NO THEME, and was not as good as the previous years, lots less prizes, food was OK, drinks very reasonable, but the entire atmosphere was a lot different from prior years, will probably go elsewhere next year. TOO bad, it was so close, oh well.

We had friends and visiting family over our first New Year's Eve here. I had seen advertised at various rec centers bands playing and tickets for the evening sold. Anyone go to these events? I would think it's more fun going with a group of friends.

We did and have for several years. Been there, done that and don't feel at all deprived. Head felt GREAT next morning too. lol.

With TV having three squares with live entertainment everyday of the year, that New Year's Eve is just another day. Since I retired, I have a hard time knowing what day of the week it is anymore. You'll find that most people will enjoy going to the square and listening to a live band outside in 75 degree weather until 9pm. Then going home and watching the ball drop and looking at all the people crowded together in Times Square freezing in 25 degree weather and wondering how they ever go to the bathroom.

As you and your wife get involved in activities, sports, clubs and neighborhood socials you will find yourself having to decide which New Year Eve party(s) you will attend.

Some of our regular golf group got together for a great celebration on New Year’s Eve.

We love to celebrate with friends and neighbors.

Many of the clubs and special interest groups have very nice parties. So do golf groups, book clubs and neighborhoods to name a few.

Don’t be too concerned about holiday parties, TV can be party heaven.

There are many things to do without having to be concerned about the cold weather!

We did City Fire in Sumter 7 years in a row, 2007 - 2013. The last 2 years our friend has had a house party. What a blast !!

Four New Year's Eve is the same where ever we are. Midnight is the same where ever we are. it's not like you have to get up to go to work
