Default Project Manager??

While I know I will be moving to the Villages, there are some circumstances "up north" that prevent me from moving right now.

With that said, I don't have a TV home yet and the one I get may not be "100%" on closing day - I may want the interior painted, may want some additional cabinets installed in the laundry room, may want the lanai enclosed, etc. before I move in.

I'm well aware that I should wait on many improvements until I'm there and settled in, but things like painting or some other items I'd like done before I move in. I already know who my go-to vendors would be for the items I'd want done.

What I'd like to do is determine what I need and have someone be available in TV, open the house for contractors, keep an eye on things, etc. since I'd rather not make multiple trips down to the new home and back up north over and over again.

Is there such a service? Would this be something the realtor (either VLS or MLS) would know about?

Thanks in advance,

Kevin

I don't think there is project management service that would be worth paying for, especially for the work you mentioned. The lanai enclosure and cabinets could be performed after you move in. But, if you really want have the work done before moving in, I would suggest you schedule the work, and plan to rent a house or hotel room for a few weeks so you can oversee the work yourself. Note that some people are having a lot of trouble getting contractors to show up and complete the work on time. I have a friend who hired a general contractor to do a large lanai project last July, and it is still nowhere near completed.

OP, painters are in short suppled and appear to be booked up 2 months in advance, not sure about other contractors. You might try a house watch service and offer to pay for the additional trips that will be required.
However, I would suggest that you move in live in the house a while and then choose your paint color, etc., all of the vendors move furniture, cover floors, etc., it would be awful if you moved in and the color you chose just did not work.

Without compromising your personal information, what general location are you moving to?

I'm looking for a resale between 466 and 466a (maybe a little more south than north), or a resale in Dunedin.

We are closing June 14th in one of the southern Villages. If the timing meshes and you don’t find anyone, I’d be happy to help out if I can. You can message me if you want. I completely understand trying to schedule and keep on top of things from afar. Not fun.
