It's a comic book kid's movie. It was a lot of fun to watch. A bigger screen would have been nice but you can't get everything.
It's a good movie pass movie but if you only go twice a month you might skip this one. Last edited by tomwed; 07-31-2018 at 09:29 PM. |

If you're a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this one is a must-see. Of course they ALL are, really. However, this is a very good sequel to the original Ant-Man movie and has a nice link to the recent Avengers movie (but you have to stay through all the credits to get it). Paul Rudd is great as always, Evangeline Lilly is wonderful, Michael Douglas seems to be having a ball, Laurence Fishburne is always worth watching, Michelle Pfeiffer has still got it and Michael Peña just steals every scene he's in. They somehow digitally de-age Douglas and Pfeiffer by 20 years or more for a few scenes and it works surprisingly well. Is it a movie that will haunt you or make you really think deep thoughts? No way. It is good summer fun though and not as much of a downer as the last Avengers movie.
I caught this one at the AMC Leesberg on a good-sized screen with a very good sound system and both were worth experiencing (not to mention the reclining seats). Too bad that theater is as far away as it is (it's a solid half-hour each way by car for me and obviously not exactly golf cart-accessible) or I'd sign up for their new $20/month program especially as MoviePass seems to be on its last legs. |

Sounds like Leesburg Theater got quite an upgrade. They resolved this a number of years ago. I did have to go see the first The Hunger Games in a tiny $5 a seat theater in Belleview. The Hunger Games - Rotten Tomatoes But some of the later Hunger Games movies were shown here in the Villages. |
