Default 'Gardenia' model question

Is it possible to get, with a "stretched" Gardenia, the following:

1) Bay window in 3rd bedroom?

2) Closet in 3rd bedroom?

Not sure about the bay window. Yes, to the closet, you'll have to stretch the front. This has been done many times.

Good luck it's a great home

We recently purchased a stretch Gardenia. It gave us the 3rd Bedroom versus a room without a closet. It has a large front window, but a bay window was not offered. We did the stretch on the side of the house as well as the lanai and the garage. We love it with the additional square footage. It will be done on June 14.

Default Gardenia

We were looking at stretch Gardenia's in Feb, and coudl not find one lot that ir would fit on. We want the side strech and either the golf cart garage or a 4ft strech. Anyone else have a hard time with a Gardenia strech?

I have a stretch Bougainevilla with closets in all 3 bedrooms, one of the bedrooms is 17 ft. long with a bow window, and I have a good-size Florida room in addition to the lanai. Also inside laundry room and oversize garage.

How much square footage does that net in your Bougainvilla? I would love to have about 2400 square ft. but I don't think that is possible without going to a Premier. The Williamsburg is the Premier verson of the Gardenia/ Camellia. The up side is that the Premiers have taller ceilings in the garage for more storage and the downside is that they cost a lot more.

I wanted a bow window in my "den/study/office" in my Gardenia. Couldn't do it because I don't have that much space between me and the street. Am perfectly satisfied now, partly because the room has become so cluttered that I envision being totally overrun had I had the small extra space!

Never considered a bigger garage or golf cart space. For myself and The Cat Two it simply wasn't necessary!

We took the Gardenia with the stretch in the den, the golfcart garage, and 2 ft stretch in the lanai. Our sales agent went through over 130 lots trying to fit us, and came up with two. We love our corner lot, and both selections were corners. That is probably the direction you will need to go for stretching the way you want it.

btw, could have gone 2 more feet on each side, but did not, and regret it. However, we are happy with what we selected.

Think I saw Gracie at the square last night, but didn't disturb her. Celebrities usually wear dark glasses, but Gracie did not go incognitio.

Although she is a celebrity, Gracie is as nice in person as her posts imply! I'll bet a Blue Heron she'd be pleased if you stopped to say hi. However, methinks Gracie is in Cincinnati as we speak.

Default Thanks for the Gardenia comments

Many thanks to those who commented on the 'stretch' Gardenia. I really appreciate it.

We kicked out the garage four feet and the side wall was kicked out two feet.

Thanks for your reply. Our agent didn't look through that many, but a corner lot was the only solution. Curious how much extra you paid for the lot. When did you choose it?
Our agent told us if we found one, it would be $20-$30K over the standard Gardenia lot. btw, I agree the two foot is mandatory for the living-room side.
Didn't think of the other but with a golf cart garage, that seems an interesting twist.

Corner lot, closer to $30K, but I guess it is sq ft based.

If you get the Gardenia on the corner lot, make sure your living room windows face the corner yard. Otherwise, you are going to be looking into the side of the next house. We asked other corner lot owners before we purchased the lot, and they all told us about the living room windows facing the yard.

There are some Gardenia's out there facing the other way, but can't imagine unless the owners just wanted privacy...though then again, that would mean the Master BR would then face the corner and street. Not my cup of tea.
