Default Hot water recirculating pump

Anyone have a recirculating pump installed on the tankless hot water?
Is it working out so you don t have too wait long for the hot water?
I called the plumber who did the install, Mike Scott, they said they will not install one.

We have one…..went from a minute or two wait (in shower) down to about 30 seconds…..

What you save on water you pay for in electricity.

So for shower, it’s not worth it.

An option would be an under sink heating unit for a kitchen sink.

There is no return on investment. You can google it to see the data.

There was another thread on this subject. As I recall you need to first call the tankless heater manufacturer to see if the unit is suitable for using a recirculating pump, AND the rate of water flow for the system to work correctly. They might even have a recommendation for the pump. Be sure to install a timer so you are not running the tankless water heater all the time.
