Default Days of the Week - Lose track?

So, all you TOTVers who do not have to wait for retirement/house to sell up north/etc to live in The Villages.................do you lose track of time once there? Does every night feel like a Saturday night? Does it take long to adjust to not having to get up and go to work every day?

It took me one day of not having to set my alarm clock to adjust. It's interesting to sit at the outdoor bar at Urban Flats and look at the entertainment and crowd at the Pavilion in Lake Sumter Landing and think that it looks like Saturday night and realize it's Tuesday.

Great response rjrex! Living in TV is just like having a never-ending weekend. No problem adjusting to Paradise Peazoup!

Every day in TV is like a week-end. The only time I look at the calendar is to see what I'm doing that day. I'm not working so who cares what day it is. In TV land you don't care what day it is, just what am I doing today.

Well, so far we've only been able to spend a month at a time in TV. I pack every day so full (can't lose a minute!) that I not only know what day it is at all times, but what time it is too. Gotta let go of this type A personality! But there are so many things I want to do that, try as I might, I can't fit them all in!

Another Linda,

I know the feeling all too well. I spent my first month in TV last winter rushing from one class to another, from one activity to another. At the end of 1 month I was totally frazzled. I knew how fast the time would go and wanted to try so many different things and still make time for bellydancing. LOL (thankyou for comming Linda)!

I think it makes a big difference whether you are a snowbird/flake/ball/ or a permanent resident. When you know your going to be there forever you can just push back a little and not try to get everything in.

I will try to do things differently this winter and enjoy the days more. Yea right! :

Sure do lose track of the days. Isn't it wonderful? Retirement is fantastic.

The only thing I can think of that may be somewhat (not really) negative is that I've become a big-time procrastinator!

As "Scarlet" would say, "I'll think about it tomorrow."

At my retirement party, after 40 yrs, I was given a clock. The face of the clock was labeled Sunday, Monday, Tuesday etc. During my first week here, I took the battery out of the dang thing.

Gemorc, I think you need to come to belly dancing at Nonie's.

Like Nonie, for my first two months in TV, I tried to cram way too much activity into each day and was totally frazzled. :dontknow: I think it is something every Newbie does: ... shop for funiture, buy a golf cart, shop for basics, enroll in everything possible. Since I am a snow bird (not my choice), I felt I had to jam everything into six months. Every activity and club is so wonderful you just want to try everything! Then I slowed down and life was paradise.

In October I return for another six months. I wonder if I've learned my lesson? ;D

Since my retirement I have been busy. My workweek is: Monday to Friday I do nothing and Saturday and Sunday I rest.

I don't have a problem remembering the day. Every day, Jan calls and says something like, "It's Tuesday. Did you get that ad done yet?" "It's Wednesday, did you clean out the forum cache yet?" "It's Friday. Did you polish the canuter drive yet?"

You see? I have no problem with days of the week.
