Default Bad experience at dentist!

Made an appointment for a reline (partial) a week ago. I have been back to the office five times and still experience pain when trying to chew. Any help out there? I am planning to request a full refund since I am not at all satisfied with this dental practice.

Your post has no value. At least name the dentist you are unhappy with.

The dental practice is Magnolia Dental across from Sears in Summerfield. I have since gone there again for adjustments but no luck. Partial is loose and uncomfortable.

There are dentists here unlike ANY we were used to, to me their practices are a scam. I have never been evaluated and taken to a room to be told how I could "finance" many thousands of dollars of repairs.

Especially since I hadn't missed a six month check up for thirty years. I have all of these things wrong, suddenly, from moving to another state???

Be CAREFUL.

Palm Dental behind Lange Eye and across from Crispers, with Kathleen Williams and Kareem Jabar is an ethical practice with highly skilled and caring dentists and they are both trained at University of Florida Dental School in Gainesville.

I cannot say enough good about either of these women.

it's not just here, though I suspect it's more rampant here. I've had dentists propose extensive work despite my having existing nerve damage from unnecessary dental procedures. I ran from their office.

Stay away from Oxford Dental on 301 and Johary (same owner) on 27/441.
Charged my insurance for x-rays not taken.
Wait 2 hours past your appointment time.
Called in "Your crown is ready" - but it wasn't.
And get this - assistant was doing the impression for the dentist and set up on the wrong side of the mouth. She thought #19 was on the right side, but never even looked at my teeth to see which one was ready for the impression.
Had to have a crown redone because of poor margin noticed by my new dentist.
Really should not be in business.

I totally agree with Gracie (as usual)! Palm Ridge Dental is a step above. They get all of their patients through word of mouth. Kathleen Williams and Reem Jaber are top notch dentists. My wife and I have gone to them for nearly 5 years. You are much more than a number at Palm Ridge Dental. Their phone number is (352) 391-9930.

As with any problem, there are several possibilities. If the plastic is digging into the vestibule and is not on the ridge itself, typically, it just means shortening the plastic to not dig in. If the sore spots are ON the ridge, usually this is an occlusion problem, (too much pressure). The general approach is to try one or two simple adjustments first and if that doesn't correct the problem, then the inside of the plastic (where the partial rests on the gums) should be completely relieved and a new impression made of the area for a total redo of the reline. Best is to use a tissue conditioning material for a couple of days to allow a full moulding of the shape of the gums, and use that as the template for the reline. Sometimes a soft lining material can be used depending on certain factors. Loose fitting implies the metal clasps may be slightly bent out of shape and need to be retightened. Additionally, if the upper is a complete denture and has not been relined or remade for several years, it is possible that the changes in the bone has changed the position of the upper which then changes the pressures on the lower which in turn can result in the discomfort. The critical aspect however is how much jawbone is left for support. Obviously this is the science, but the finding of someone qualified and concerned is unfortunately something I can't help you with, and Florida is not reciprocal with Michigan licensure. Sorry

Just had the unfortunate experience of taking my 94 year old mother to Oxford Dental on 301. Place is dirty, they don't seem to know what they are doing, and the dentist has no personality at all. They did however fit her in as an emergency and referred (at my request) to an oral surgeon. No way in this world would I have subjected my mother to that guy trying to remove an impacted wisdom tooth!
