My bikes shift great and are perfect for street riding in TV. I don't have any issue with bringing them down when we move in permanent (that's the easy part). I wanted them in TV next year when I visit a lot to furnish the house before the move in 2012.
So either I ship them (or take with on airplane) or buy others. Renting by the week would be a waste. |

Update: I was able to get 2 bike boxes from a local bike shop. Packed them in less than 1/2 hour and prepared for shipping. Cost to ship, insured, is about $45 each with either UPS or FedEx ground. Sure beats buying new (or even used!). Plus it is the same bikes we've gotten used to. Piece of cake!

Sending them to myself in early Jan although I did have an offer to ship now and a neighbor will hold them.
All packed and ready to ship. Weather is getting too cold up here anyway ![]() |

'YES AND NO ___ I was going to ship my bike this year, the cost was going to be about $130. I had to take it to a bike shop, they needed take wheels etc. off and pack it in a bicycle box and use what ever carrier delivers the bikes to them to ship the bike. It turns out that the box was small enough to fit in my SUV, so I paid $40 to have the bike shop pack it for my trip and another $40 to have it assembled at the bike shop in Spanish Springs. Hope this was helpful. "
