These figures were verified by Snopes & I used to know Lenny Baker who was with Sha Na Na and he told me they got paid $700.

Carlos Santana, Joe Cocker & the Grateful Dead were steals, especially since Joe Cocker! Richie Havens & Tim Hardin did well.

Quite an assembly of talent.

Neil Young wasn't at Woodstock... So much for Snopes "verifications"...

Lenny often played his own gig at the Red Fox in Rockland; believe he lived in Whitman at the time.

Did Neil Young play at Woodstock 1969?
The initial lineup consisted of only Crosby, Stills, and Nash, and the band needed more personnel in order to tour, as Steven Stills was responsible for most of the instrumentals. The trio finally settled with Neil Young. Their second concert together was none other than Woodstock 1969.

That's rough on the Grateful Dead, 7 band members (not to mention crew) around $350 each & they were far from home. Once they paid their expenses I wonder if they had anything left over?

Again Young played at Woodstock is was his second gig , he refused to be filmed because he thought all the bands we’re playing to the cameras and not to the crowd Whatever that means ,it was probably dope getting best of him he’s always told a story about how wiring a stolen pickup , don’t know whether that is true

Neil Young came on stage. He and Stephen Stills played two songs as a duo: "Mr. Soul" and "I'm Wonderin'." They were announced as The Buffalo Springfield, their former band.

My buddy and I dove all night on Friday to get there Saturday morning. We couldn’t get within 5 miles of the stage. We weren’t the only ones with that problem. Cars were lined on both sides of the dirt road for miles. We could have walked but the rain and mud was awful. People were partying everywhere. I still say I went to Woodstock, but.

Lenny went to Whitman-Hanson HS and was always around the Boston clubs in the 70's. I used to run into him on the Vineyard occasionally, when he retired there. He was a character and a great guy.

He was in the movie Grease.
