My son has one. It uses wood pellets, and gets up to 900-1000º. He uses it for pizza and finishing sous vide meats. It does a great job on pizza, but they have to be spun 3-4 times in a 2 minute bake so they don't burn, which is easy to do if you don't pay attention.

My wife saw the ad, thought it was interesting and brought it up before Christmas. I asked her if she was seriously considering a large, outdoor oven for which we had no real room in the birdcage, that cost $400, cooked things at a temperature we've never dreamed of cooking anything else at and was good for cooking the one food she'd previously been saying we'd been eating too much of. If so, I would buy it for her immediately as I'd just bought myself an Xbox Series X for a bit more than that. However, she backed away from the idea. Now you've got me curious...

The gas-fired model is the one that tempts me. I tell myself that I can use it to sear my sous vide meats. Maybe I should get into homemade pizza. Then, I think that I have enough toys and no place to put it. If I were a pizza freak, I'd do it.

Go with a gas model , you can not tell any difference from the gas or wood . The gas model is ready to use within 15 mins and is easy to use, without a lot of messing around unlike a wood burning one. I love ours and use it regularly.

Have the wood pellet version. Modified it so a round stone would spin slowly, eliminating the need for manual turning. We love it. Pizzas are fun to make and cook in 3 to 5 minutes. This is perfect for thinner pizzas for ure, which we prefer. Next one we buy will be gas. So much easier and honestly, you cannot taste any wood smoke flavor with the pellets at all. Food is not in there long enough.

have the 16"..use outdoors...is fun activity with friends. Originally bought 12"; larger (16") is easier to transport pizzas in and out of oven. Heat is contained in oven.

I know nothing about these. Does it smoke?

My neighbor has an outdoor oven of some type that he is using right now. The smoke is bad, causing my eyes to burn while in my house. I had to close the door and windows on this beautiful day.

The smoke is not blowing in his direction.

Thank goodness he doesn't use it very often.
