Smile Apartments near The Villages?

Hi everyone,

Wondering if anyone is aware of any nice apartment rentals near The Villages?
We have 2 adult children that are considering moving close to us and will need to find a nice rental community nearby.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

John

We see a lot of new apartments being built in Wildwood along 466A and 44A.

Don't know if this is important or if you are already aware, but family and friends who live in Marion, Sumter or Lake counties cannot use any of the amenities in The Villages. This includes swimming pools, executive golf, pickleball, tennis courts, Rec centers, etc.

There may be special exemptions for family who live nearby; not sure.

This is from the website:

Quote:
A resident who has a son, daughter,
grandchild or great grandchild (and their
spouses) who reside in Lake, Marion or
Sumter counties may apply for an In-Area
Guest ID card.

The In-Area Guest ID card for qualified family
members is valid for one (1) year from date
of issuance

Also consider the Oxford Oaks Section of the Villages which is open to families if you want to buy instead of renting.

You did not state their age. Renting a home in the Villages can be the same price as an apartment. You have to search in areas in which the homeowner bought before the home price explosion. My daughter and hubby found a nice Courtyard Villa for $1900 month. They were planning on purchasing a home here but are still renting. They are enjoying the carefree lifestyle that renting offers.

Have they considered long term renting in The Villages? With trash, water & amenity fee included it may be an option. Many websites list rentals. rentfromavillager.com a good start

I don't know what financial position you are in, but if you are capable purchase a home here in The Villages.
Take out a mortgage and have them pay it off; it might be less than what a landlord would charge them for rent, and you would actually have something to show for it. Renting as far as I'm concern is just throwing money in the wind.

Can under 55 rent or buy in The Villages? It sounds like they can rent with no problem.

Look at road near Lowe’s 466A. There are new traditional apartments as well as apartment homes. The Villages also rents apartments at Brownwood.

Yes, anyone at any age over i believe over 19, not sure that exactly, they just can’t use certain amenities like the adult pools until they are 30.

They also can’t have children younger than 19 living with them permanently.

There are no age restrictions on buying property in The Villages. The restrictions are on "residing" in The Villages.

I agree with purchasing a house especially with the abundance of preowned. Have them make the mortgage payment, building equity.

We have done the same for our granddaughter and her fiancé, until they finish residency. Then they can either LC or we will sell house and put their invested money in an account for them to be used later.
