Default Apparently I need 10 posts before I can review a contractor...

So, here goes post #2...

We visited The Villages for the first time after buying a house near Spanish springs. I stayed a month and was fortunate to have experienced to hurricanes while I was there! In spite of that, I have to say I am absolutely delighted!

Apparently, in order to review a contractor, I need to have 10 posts on this site first. This is a complicated site but so far I have not seen any rules about making a post about a restaurant. I guess we'll see!

On one of the lovely evenings I was in town I had dinner at Amerikano's on the square at Spanish Springs. Best muscles I've had ever!

Another night I ate alligator bites at Gators in Lake Sumter landing, and they too were delicious!

For those of you who are squeamish about any kind of "weird" foods, I encourage you to step out of your comfort box. Some of our favorite foods are those less common, and you are really missing out if you don't try new things.

Thank you to the fine staff at both of those restaurants!

I have lots of contractors to review so I'll try to come up with some other ideas to post on here to make my minimum.

Welcome to TV, yes the site can be a little confusing. If you post replies to other posts on this site you can get to 10 real quick.

At the bottom of the page, you’ll see a link to website rules. On #2 under posting guidelines, you’ll see the rule for minimum number of posts before a review. Hope this helps.

That’s common for most review sites. It prevents someone from quickly creating accounts and either overwhelming positive or negative reviews on something.

Ah, I get it... I'm just not much into social media, so I have a lot to learn.

I "promised" a contractor I'd bash him on social media if they didn't return the money they stole from me, gave them almost 2 months, and many opportunities to do the right thing, and they still refused, so... Time's up! I posted to Google, Yelp & Nextdoor. I'm not in Facebook or I'd post there as well.

So far, I've been informed that company is well known for being awful, particularly to older customers. I won't be making much impact on there business, but it's the principle of the thing. I keep my promises.

Get in touch with Seniors Against Crime and file a complaint as well as the BBB, one or both should be able to help you.

Check out Florida’s County Small Claims procedures. You can sue for up to $8,000. & I believe there’s Court forms online & assistance with Court personnel.

I have a policy of never eating anything that in other circumstances would think I would be a nice meal

Remember none of us were born here, and our “back home” friends didn’t move here with us.
So…we have each other.
Everyone makes the mistake of not checking out a contractor thoroughly enough. We all did it.
Let us know when you accidentally end up on a roundabout in your golf cart. That is slightly better than newbies who get their car stuck in a golf cart tunnel. All of these are stories to share at the pool.
Welcome home!

You can go to small claims court and even win the claim. But then you are responsible for collecting. So you have to know where they bank, if they own property and other information to file liens. if anyone has advice to get Assistance with those type of actions, I would appreciate the advice
