Default Laminate Floor

Purchased pre-owned home and laminate flooring is filthy and has a waxy build up on it. Old bottle of Mopnglow in garage. Something was used on it and should not have been. Any suggestions?

I had a smeared floor and I use Bona Laminate floor cleaner on mine and it works great. If there really is wax on it, I don't know how to help. You can buy the Bona at Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more Good luck.

Mix up some dishwasher detergent in warm water. Use a sponge dampened with the solution, and it will come right up.

Floor Masters told me to use glass plus on my floor and that lead to a smeary floor. I also used vinegar and water and that made it worse. I bought the Bona as mentioned before and sprayed it on all over and used large towels and did a dance across the floor the first time I used it. Use your feet to really rub it good. That cleaned my floor from the smeary mess. Once that was done I clean it about once a month with the Bona, I swiffer once a week with my large dry swiffer then use a microfiber mop while spritzing the Bona. My floors are very shiny. They are the piano finish floors and shine wonderfully. I get lots of compliments on my floor.

Ditto...I use the one for hardwood and the one made for tile. Bona products may be purchased ad Loews.

You gotta be careful with "wetness" when cleaning your laminate!!! IF you use a sponge mop you need to make sure it's wrung out really well...and even then it may leave 'puddles' here and there.

I don't think steam cleaning laminate is a good idea. I was told by the flooring company not to do it because it can get into the joints and might cause buckling. You might want to make a call to a flooring company before you do that.

Never - ever use water on laminate. Bruce makes a cleaner that has no water - not sure if it will undo the damage already done. Contact a laminate flooring company.
