Attempted Armed Robbery in Spanish Springs
I have received this information from the President of my HOA.
On Wed. 3/09/2016 two women were accosted at gun point between the Postal Station and the wall to the Villas Of Spanish Springs. The gunman demanded Money and both women began screaming. The gunman ran off and escaped in a waiting vehicle. The gunman was m/w late 20's. Police were called and a report was taken. I have yet to see any report of this in the online news site or in the Daily Sun. |

We were skeptical, but you were right. The online news is running the article right now. The online news is pretty good at publishing news from law enforcement.

If you can scream and chase away a robber, you don't need a gun.

If the robber wants to kill you to eliminate any witness-you are SOL-no reasoning with an out of control druggie
Be prepared its what they taught you in the scouts. |

...and possibly you would have a wounded would be robber and dead victims OR a robber with more than one handgun. Several scenarios could have happened. Best would be the capture of the robber.
In a scenario where the women screamed, the robber turned and ran, and the armed victim shot the fleeing bad guy in the back - just curious if charges of manslaughter would stick? Any legal experts weigh in? |

It's easier to say your sorry than be DEAD.
These robers have no problem eliminating the victim? |

There is also the shooting in a very stressful situation to be considered. The well trained lawman knows about that. In a stressful shooting situation, most bullets from average citizens would go in very haphazard pattern and have a good possibility of taking out bystanders. Any other legal experts? Deadly force to protect your life or the life of another. You dont take a life to protect stuff. If the scumbag takes your wallet, car, tv, poodle or the steak in your freezer, wave goodbye as he runs off and call 911. Dont put stuff over a human life, even if its a scumbag.
If you want to play the technically legal game, I hope you have a $1 mill to defend yourself and a few years to spare as it runs through the legal system. Then you better hope you win or you will not be spending your final years in The Villages. |

To everyone who does not carry shut up, we know the rules, we have insurance to cover us , I was taught how to shoot by a retired secret service agent
If it hits the fan , you had better hope some well trained person is nearby or you are SOL |

Not every gun carrier is as careful as you. Also, do NOT tell me to shut up! I can exercise my First Amendment rights just as you can exercise your 2nd Amendment rights! Got it? Nowhere did I say that carrying a gun should be outlawed. Just do it all legally. Last edited by Sandtrap328; 03-13-2016 at 12:14 AM. |
