Exclamation Attempted break-in in Duval

My neighbor behind me on Murrells Inlet Loop was away last week and upon arriving home found a small tear in his lanai screen door.
His son-in-law was visit who is an FBI agent looked and noticed his sliding door had been pried on and the door channel bent and damage to the door.
Fortunately before he leave for his trip he installed a large dowel rod in the door channel and the burglar was unable to gain entry.
The Sumter sheriff officer just left my house on McClellanville Terrace asking if we had observed any thing.
Please lock and secure your home, and be aware.
He advised me that if you see anyone enter a home don't yell t them but call 911 and just observe.

Thanks Eddie...always good to hear reminders. Guess those wood dowels are a deterrent after all.

This might be the reason for the increased police traffic in Duval rshoffer had mentioned last week.

That area has a lot of new construction...with a lot of workers/crews coming and going. Not terribly secure.
