Default Bingo Tickets - All sold out!!

This is Gracie the cheerleader, the Pollyanna, the glass runneth over, starry eyed and a huge fan of The Villages and I am NOT HAPPY.

Sweetie went this morning at 7:45 to Laurel Manor to get three Bingo tickets for us, the schedule for next months events was published this morning in The Sun. He was twentieth in line when they began selling them at 8:30 and they were sold out when it was his turn. The person in charge said that the line began forming at seven this morning. You can buy tickets at regional rec centers for all venues.

When I called the recreation department a very nice person told me that four ticket were the allowable amount to be sold to each person. There were four different locations for Bingo in February and each place seats 100 people, I am pretty sure.

This is the fourth time we didn't get tickets and our Helene is SO disappointed.

Should I move to Stonecrest? Or get a pup tent and wait in line overnight?

If it doesn't stop raining and being cold I am thinking about jumping off the Morse Bridge.

sigh.

Look at the bright side. We didn't have abandoned cars all over our roads because of snow and ice..we didn't have lots of kids spending the night in a school bus or in their class rooms beacuse of the snow and ice...etc.

This is a pretty good place to live...thats why it get so uhm..crowded this time of year. Hang in there Gracie!

It is supposed to be in the 80s here this weekend.

My math may be a little fuzzy, but how is that possible. If everyone is allowed only 4 tickets.....

I called the recreation department and I did not fully understand. Each person is allowed Four transactions and need not show the ID cards of the people they are signing up, only their addresses. So someone can go in and sign up 16 people or maybe more(?) without showing those people's ID cards.

I THINK it is four, maybe more to a single transaction and each person is allowed four transactions and each transaction requires taking the other peoples names and addresses and takes a long time. Sweetie was twentieth in line and waited well over an hour to be told they were sold out. This was happening simultaneously in other rec centers.

Gary Morse....Please fix this small glitch. I cannot defend this place with stuff like this going on.

Well that doesn't seem fair at all. Geez, with all the other rules and regulations out there that ARE enforced...how did this get overlooked? So, if I understand correctly, each person is allowed 4 tickets for each transaction and them they are entitled to 4 transactions. So each person, therefore, is allowed 16 tickets if they choose. Thats an awful lotta of your friends you hafta sit next to.
Seems like Mr. Morris has 2 choices: restrict tickets to less than the current amounts so more people have a chance to get tickets or open up more Bingo places.
If I had tickets, Gracie, I would gladly offer mine to you........you are the heart of our community, you and Helene deserve not only a seat - but the best seats in the house.

Gracie - Watch the 'Items for Sale' forum on totv - someone is bound to selling some tix close to the date of the game 'cause they can't use them - or because they are wanting to scalp them to a hardcore bingo enthusiast.

A TOTV bingo get together is a brilliant idea.

--Something is fishy as the person at Seabreeze told me that 4 tickets were all that was allowed for any event not 4 transactions times 4 tickets I think someone has got the system messed up. -- And what makes these bingos so special and why so few. I seem to remember (and it was 2006 so given my leaky brain I could be wrong) that there use to be a ton of bingo events. Sort of like there are Bunco now.

That Helene. She loves having three cards and her eyes sparkle during this hour and a half event. Her favorite is the evening ones that serve ice cream in the middle...with toppings and nuts and she often is lucky. But she is happy for whoever wins.

We can't help but love Bingo because she loves the gentle Bingo feeling that happens at these socials. I don't think she could be a REAL hard core Bingo gal, if you know what I mean....

It is so much fun to accompany her to Bingo.

We will get in line earlier next time.

Sorry, Gracie, I got the last 3 Mulberry bingo tickets. I stood in line just under an hour.
