Are you referring to the food saver units where you use pre-made bags or the roll of material for making various size bags? If so, I have The Food Saver brand and I love it. I seem to buy the larger pkgs of pork chops at Sam's Club so I end up with 4 or 5 meals that I vacuum seal... same for buying chicken breast when it's a bogo. the system keeps meat fresher for longer periods of time.

I have the Food Saver brand also and love it! You can use any brand bags with it. I have used the ZipLoc bags before. They are less expensive than the Food Saver bags & have an extra piece inside that's used to seperate the meats so they don't freeze together. I didn't think that was a big deal since I let everything thaw in the bag before opening it anyway.

I also freeze soups/stews with the system. Just don't take ALL the air out of the bag.

We also have the Food Saver brand. We vacuum seal cheese and have also sealed pastry items, but you have to freeze them first and then don't let the machine suck all the air out before you seal the bags.
