Default viewing squares ?

The picture I get of the cameras on the squares is very small. Is there any way to make each larger?

Thanks,
Pat

Pat there is another possibility also.

Check out your mouse. Is it a fancier newer one? Mine is a newer Micrsoft mouse. It has the usual left/right buttons with a wheel in between. What is really neat and I must admit I only recently discovered this....on the left side toward the top are two more smaller buttons. When I push one of them I get a moveable magnifing square. Pretty cool.

To the best of my knowledge, magnification is the only adjustment, that you can do to make the picture bigger. The boundaries of the picture are sadly, going to remain approx. 4 1/2" x 3"

Thanks fumar and Susan.

My mouse doesn't have the two smaller buttons and I couldn't find any box to enlarge the picture.

I have a Mac so will go to the Mac store tomorrow and see if they can help. Always a fun place to visit.

Here is a link to the Villages website: http://www.thevillages.com/lifestyle/marketsquare.asp

You can access LSL webcam there, and can switch between the squares once the window opens.

There are numerous ways to make them bigger but it will distort them with any method.

The easiest way is to use IE and there is a % indicator in the very lower right hand corner. Just change that from 100% to 200% or whatever. The bigger you make it the more distorted it will be.

Russ, sorry to be stupid, but how do you "use IE"?

I have the web cam as a shortcut on my desktop. So I just click on it and I go to the web cam. But there aren't any percentage signs.

Bare..... You're using dialup, yes? What is your provider when you dialup? Well anyway, after you have logged onto the internet, click on "Start" and choose "Programs" and when you see the big round "e" that sez Internet Explorer, click on that. If you're not already logged onto that site, you need to either logon or register. Then you "Search" for www.talkofthevillages.com and when you bring it up on your browser (which is the Internet Explorer) you will need to sign in to TOTV as you usually do. Then click on "Search" to find the cam site. Once you've brought up the cam site on your browser, you will see in the lower right-hand corner a place to click on making the cam site bigger by clicking and a number of choices with pop up and click on 125 or 150....to enlarge the pic. As someone mentioned, the higher you go, the granier the pic becomes.

If you have succeeded in getting this far, make sure to click on the gold star on the leftside of your window while in the browser and that will set this site into your "favorites" so that when you logon again, to get to the cams all you have to do is hit the gold star and, voila, there you are.

Good luck and hope this helps.

I just read Barb's advice... followed it...located the % box where she said to look.

Then I closed that window and clicked on my desktop icon, accessed the webcam page and the % was still there. Clicked on it and up to 200% at this hour it still is pretty viewable.

Barb you and Russ are brilliant! Thank you!

Barb, I use dial-up at the cottage. But now I'm home so I'm using high speed. When I click on the round e it takes me to Yahoo Canada. Which I guess must be my internet provider. Duh. And that is how I always get into TOTV. But when I get in and go to the web cam, there is no % sign in the lower right-hand corner.

Oh well, if I squint I can vaguely make out tiny moving figures, much like ants. Guess I'll have to be satisfied with that.

Bare try looking in the bottom right hand corner of your screen, just above the time.

You will hopefully see 100% with a magnifying glass . That's it. It works on any web page.

there is another way to increase the size of the square camera's....however....please note that the larger you make the picture, the more distorted it gets....haven't found a way around that yet

anyway................

click on the link below

http://www.thevillages.com/lifestyle/cam_lsl.asp

as Russ said...in the browser window that opens....in the lower right hand corner u should see a number (100%)...click on it and u can adjust the size of the picture up to 400%.....this will allow you, after adjusting the pic to the center of you screen, to view the pic in a way that is almost as large as your computer screen

the pic certainly is larger....but its very very distorted.....hope this helps

Thanks! Followed all directions with my Toshiba and it worked. It is still dark outside, but I think that it will be easier to see even enlarged just a little.

I had to install ActiveX camera to see it.
