At 81, are you going to be able to get your monies worth out of the amenities or would you just call it a monthly donation. Before you decide check out all the extra expenses. If money isn’t an issue you can’t beat TV life, it’s great!

Uphill we always climb with caution, downhill we dash, carefree

You must do your due diligence. on live there that is important is there is no free community travel if you don't drive and taking car service it is expensive to get around. A lot that is said about living there is smoke and mirrors you must see for yourself and check the talk of the villages website you will be amazed at what is said.

If you are in good health your age will not be a problem as far as finding friends and things to do.
New sections will tend to be younger than older sections so you may want to buy a resale.

Living in TV

My mom is a few years older then you and has found majority of people she has met to be much younger. Are there folks in 80’s? Yes but are they among the oldest? Yes. Keep in mind TV has been attracting a lot in their 50’s and early 60’s (many of us who still work)

JMintzer 06-24-2022 08:41 PM

The wife and I are 64 & 63. We bought about 1 1/2 years ago. We're the youngsters on our street...

We're just north of 44...

No one knows the real answer even google because they are using voter registration and other self-declaring information. Not everyone who lives here is registered to vote or has a resident ID card.
I will say it is getting younger by the year and not older. The younger generation doesn't seem to work into their 70s and many of the younger generations have computer jobs that many can do from home. I know lots of people in their 50’s who moved to TV and work from home. The big cities are just getting too expensive and crime-filled.
But to answer your question anyone at any age can find friends here.

That would be full time residents or those snow birds who claim The Villages as their permanent address. My suggestion would be to consider renting versus owning right now

Age

Newer areas closer to 65 older closer to you so Orange Blossom and closer to hwy 42 and above 466 would in general be closer to 80

That is why transparency is very important when buying there. Thank you

Please give him a break. I’m in my 60’s and sometimes forget. Imagine the authors @ 80? lol

That's up from when I moved here ten years ago. Then the same google search showed it to be about 68.

Funny, I would have though that the average age would be going down.

We're evidently not dying off as fast as younger people are moving in.

Just wondering about average age groups there & if there are many in their
80's. Thanks - Arnie

Plenty, and don’t call them “old”!
