Default Latest Covid Statistics for The Villages, FL

I’m hoping someone can provide a link where the latest Covid statistics for the area of The Villages can be found. I’ve search all the Forums and can’t find anything. I apologize if this is posted somewhere already but like I said, I search this Forums and did a Google search and there doesn’t seem to be anything other that stats that are a few months old available. I realize The Villages stretches across a few counties but stats should still be available to the general public. Thanking everyone in advance for your positive and accurate replies. Merry Christmas everyone and wishing everyone all the best for 2022.

It’s an easy GOOGLE search now to interpret information.

Default Good site but doesn't answer the question

This is a good site but it does not answer the question asked about statistics for The Villages. The best you can get is info on Sumter, Lake, and Marion counties.

The official statistics are compiled by county. I think that any Villages statistics would be unofficial and could be difficult to calculate due to the HIPAA law.

You'll never find statistics JUST on the people who live in The Villages Communities by itself since it spans 3 counties. Best you might get is by zip code. Sumter County is the largest area but still includes outside TV.

Be happy to give an accurate reply. Positive, maybe not so much.

So far there is no COVID count that applies only to The Villages--- you can get county and zip code---the closest approximation would be to add 32162 and 32163.

Now, just to play devil's advocate, why would anyone need to know that information and what would anyone do with it???? Because I wouldn't make any major life decisions based on what is essentially useless information. I suppose there is a threshold positivity rate above which more people will wear a mask while driving alone in their cars

Since we are very careful to take reasonable precautions, I am less concerned about the Covid statistics and way more concerned about availability of hospital capacity in the area (I get it that both are closely related). One of the very unfortunate side effects of Covid is that it is putting incredible strain our health care providers. A big concern is that people that have accidents, or other serious non-Covid related health events, will not be able to get adequate health care services. Does anyone know if this information is accurately readily available. If someone has the unfortunate need to go to an ER, it would be nice to be able to choose a place with available beds if necessary. Stay safe out there and Merry Christmas.

I think Covid is rampant in the Villages.
I see so many with masks on...they must be sick.

We are all in danger again.

An excellent point, but many would probably not think about it before the need arose. I think all and any of this type of information is very difficult to obtain... at least to an accurate degree. People and institutions tend to "frame" and "massage" this type of information to present the best picture possible, so personally, I'd not take any such figures you mange to find as "concrete". Hopefully (???) in the event of a serious accident, explosion, fire, etc. the fist responders are aware of which hospitals are able to accept victims ! ?

I do take this virus very seriously, never knew either grandmother, BOTH died in the 1918 pandemic, however, having said that, there are light moments like the one you brought up. It made me wonder if there is also a threshold positivity rate above which we should all wear BOTH a mask and a large plastic face shield when driving... I gave up trying to figure out how a virus can know it is forbidden to enter under or around those shields...

Consider not thinking on this ever again and getting on with the rest of your life. Take some simple, common-sense precautions and other than that don't talk about it, think about it, worry about it, write about it. Don't you realize how many other things that might kill you have higher odds of killing you instead? Live life. Stop obsessing on this one health concern.

Those who got the vax during the Spanish Flu were the ones who perished, not the unjabbed. Data is out there.
