Default My Last W/end as a Wannabe

We will be closing on our St James Gardenia Monday morning. Wifey is retired but I am not; however, I will be on vacation for next 3 weeks in our new home. After that, w/end commutes from SoFla will have to suffice for awhile.

It's a big deal for us for many reasons, primary of which is that it marks the beginning of a transition from decades of employment to (hopefully decades of) retirement. Those of you who have already retired can relate, I am sure.

Another reason is that this will be only the third home we have owned in our 31 years of marriage. We lived in our first home 12 years, and have lived in our second home for the past 19 years. I can't imagine what it's like to sell/buy/move as frequently as some of you fellow TOTVers have. I recall one of you wrote that you've moved 17 times. Wow!

I am posting this thread to tell you how much I have appreciated your collective knowledge and input since I joined TOTV last January.

Thank you very much! You all have made this experience less daunting.

Oh, and you can be sure that I will continue to be a TOTVer. There is just too much more to learn from you and to share with you. Besides, you all are an awfully fun group with whom to e-hang out.

And Skyguy, I agree: Russ Boston does love the Yankees!

I know just how you feel--as of May '10. It will be a wonderful new chapter in your lives and you'll be so very glad you decided to become Villagers. Once aware of TOTV, i don't know how anyone could ever stop logging on--so much help, so much fun. Welcome, and ENJOY!

I am so excited for you. We are here a year on 9/3 and it's like we're still on vacation (except for the unpacking). We're over in Pennecamp and we also have a Gardenia. Hope you luck out with a great neighborhood like ours. We got applause when we got to pull the car in the garage (boxes piled to the ceiling). That is a big event here. Our neighborhood will celebrate anything. Email us if you need anything, blowup-bed, tools etc. Nancy

Thanks for noticing! However, it'll be three weeks tomorrow since Russ last stopped in for a look-see and my lure can't work if he doesn't see it. Oh well, I was at least hopeing that it would get him to at least turn red and... well, you know what I mean.

Good luck on your new Gardenia. That's the model we bought pre-owned in January and love it! Our handiman told us that it's the best model for having a party. Pity that I'm not the partying kind. Believe it or not, I've never even had a lampshade on my head!

Hi Gmcneill,

One of my favorite things to read on TOTV is that, 'we've finally become Villagers'. Your joy is evident-- and contagious. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.

May the rest of your life be the best of your life!

MANY thanks for the kind words and warm welcome to all of you who took a moment out of your day to post a response. I appreciate it very much!

George, it is one he** of a 'hood, isn't it?

Sky...if you and I ever end up at a Crispers TOTV get-together, you can count on me bringing a lamp shade for you. I just hope that it won't clash with the rest of your ensemble.
