The AMC theater at the mall in Leesburg. The local Old Mill theater here is no comparison; nor were the other two theaters that are now closed. I think the developer realized that.

We are talking about the same thing. By workgroup, I meant - before retirement. The TV Land 3000 clubs are the after retirement situation, not working, just retiring,

Not the ones that I mentioned in the post. I was thinking about one of the early popular Australian actors that got drunk and had a police confrontation.

It’s a dirty shame that the movie theaters in Spanish Springs and Brownwood are closed! What a treat to see something on the big screen, especially on a very hot day. Seems many of the old traditions are fading away.. streamed movies just aren’t the same.

Watching a daytime talk show out of NYC....not The View! They brought up movies and it was said no one goes anymore due to streaming and home movie set ups. I think Covid changed a lot with our culture.....shopping, movies, travel and more.

I agree with that. The Villages has a huge population of retirees who also get a lot of visits from their family members from all over the place. Movie theaters would be quite a draw especially for those tired of Disney's offerings near Orlando.

Proof is in the pudding as they say. Not enough support from villagers to make reopening a worthwhile endeavor.

I bet you could put a lot of apartments in those big theater buildings.
Just sayin’.
