Default Bad Driving

This morning I was driving my golf cart on San Marino going towards Tierra del Sol. There were a number of contractors parked on my left side blocking most of the lane. As I came alongside, a lady in a van coming from the other direction decided she couldn't wait for me to clear my lane. Evidently, her time was more important than mine so she just went into my lane and forced me off the road and partially onto someone's yard.

Then returning home on Chaparral Drive, a man in a car passed me in the residential area where the speed limit is 20 mph. There was another golf cart approaching from the other direction so the car cut back in front of me rather abruptly to avoid a head on with the other cart.

It's a crazy time of year on the roads so be careful out there. Don't understand why people are in such a hurry...

Better get used to it. Not saying all, but this time of year there are a lot of snow birds that are not used to the driving protocol here in The Villages, combine that with aging drivers and golf carts in the roads, best drive defensively, even if you think you have the right of way!

Bad driving happens ALL year around! Folks bring their bad habits with them or never develop good habits...add to that the aging process. Yes, we see more of it now as there are MORE people here! Go back to your former homes and you'll see the same there as well. It's unfortunate that the OP experienced this but glad he was able to remain safe despite the idiots!!

Bad driving does occur all year but is more prominent this time of year. Keep your head up when on the courses as well. Now is the season for impatient golfers hitting upon the 4 some in front of them. You're safe no where now! LOL.

Just wait till you hit the Gauntlet, MB from 466 to El Camino Reno. Or Rio Grand and Delmar. IMO other than Postal parking lot, that's the most dangerous Gauntlet in the villages, well, at least north of the Mason Dixon 466A

There will always be the people who think the rules do not apply to them.
And old farts especially so.
There are just more of us (old farts) this time of year.

Smile....it kills 'em!!
