Default Beginners Yoga

I am looking for a very beginning Yoga group. I looked in the paper and didn't see any classes described as beginner and I am such a beginner that I have never even been in a room where Yoga is being practiced(?).

Does anyone know about a class? Yoga has come highly recommended by an out of town friend.

There are two very very basic beginner classes. One is on Weds. at 1 PM at Savanah Center and the other is at La hacienda on Thursday mornings at 10 AM. In the winter there is another at 11 AM. I think at Savanah there are still two classes in summer. Even tho it says intermediate in the paper it is not at all. Barbara is the teacher. At first you may think that it isn't really Yoga, but it is and is age appropiate. You only do what your body can do. After class you will feel calm, stretched and refreshed. Bring a Yoga mat. Sometimes she also uses a rope or pillow but you can get along without those. It would be good to start now as it is not so crowded. Try it, you 'll like it !

yoga is not about how you do a pose....your practice is about you, your mind, and your breath....any yoga instructor should welcome you to their class...enjoy

I love yoga. You don't really need a beginner class because the very essence of Yoga is to work at your own pace.

They offer Beginner Yoga at the Lifelong Learning College. Also, there are classes of varying difficulty at Rec Centers offered every day of the week. You can enjoy yoga at your own pace, and don't worry, no-one judges anyone.

whatever class you go to let the instructor know that you are new, there are always modifications to anything. Even as a yogie who does sunrise and sunset yoga everyday, i have to modify....just slow your breath and enjoy
