Default Being Proactive

We will be sending a POD to our home in The Villages and we are worried about possible damage to our curio cabinet glass and mirrors. Is there a reputable custom glass and mirror business that we can rely on to fix any breakage?

Put masking tape across all the glass and that will help.

I have heard very good things about Lake Glass.

I'm sure you probably know this... U-Haul stores sell special packaging for glass and mirrors and pictures.

We moved these cabinets and a very expensive grandfather clock our selves. When packing we did the following:
1. removed all weights and pendulum (clock)
2. removed all shelves, emptied all drawers
3. Used movers blankets and completely wrapped the furniture all sides
4. Used suitable clamps and webbing or rope to secure the furniture to the side of the truck, in your case the pod.
5. The above furniture was placed with the sensitive side toward the outside of the truck, and the next piece of furniture was placed with the backs together to further protect the sensitive furniture.

Doing the above, all furniture arrived in tact.
Hope this helps.
Also, make sure you consider the slope of the driveway when packing as well as unpacking, it would very bad to have something fall or slide during the unpacking phase.
