Default Traveling to Orlando Airport

Routine trip to Orlando Airport Saturday for a pickup. Saw sign on turnpike stating that OBT exit closed. Got there 20 minutes later and realized that this was the same exit as 528 Beachline to airport. Still closed so decided to bypass and go to next exit 5 miles south which was Osceola Parkway. Neglected to take GPS and map since I knew anticipated route. Long story short had to follow airplanes landing to find 417 north to 528 east of airport 30 minute delay. No major problem on pickup but could have been issue if flying out.

There was a simpler way but did not know it. Just a warning to those flying out if rare experience repeats. Plan ahead.

My friends laugh at me when i turn on my GPS when I'm traveling on roads about 50 miles away. But one time it came in handy when I got into some road construction and didn't have a clue where I was. Love my TomTom!

For future reference you can stay on Osceola Pkwy to Boggy Creek Road which will take you directly to the airport.

Thanks for the heads up! I just turn on Google maps on my cell phone and it tells me all detours and traffic delays and re routes me automatically. Works great!

On Saturday the OBT exit was closed, but you still could take that exit and get on 528 to the airport, a little confusing. A little backup on the Turnpike, not really bad. This was around 10:00 AM.
