Default beware of bingo at the synagogue

Last night we went to the new synagogue Bingo on Wednesday night. If you are a bingo player stay away. It was the worst. They were so disorganized. Calling numbers that were not even coming up. Calling so slow you could take a nap between games. When they called numbers they would say O 72 than o 7-2. When they played speedys you could watch 10 cards and still fall asleep. When someone gota bingo some elderly man would come over with a camera to take your picture. We spent $40 and walked out after one hour. We left our papers on the table and they grabbed them like voltures .Another thing that was so bad--- We brought a bottle of water. The seal was broken and the water was awful. It definetly was tap water. We then noticed all the bottles were not sealed????? It made me sick to think someone else had their mouth on that bottle.
I am not a negative person and I hate to report this but I would hate someone else to waste their money. Beware!!!

American Legion on Rolling Acres Rd. cor. of 466 has an excellent Bingo every Thursday afternoon, but get there early since the seats fill up fast. This computerized Bingo has the numbers posted on TV screens and moves along very fast.

If you win the raffle, do they take out taxes before they give it to you? I assume it is a check if the jackpot is big?

Default Re-used water bottles??

"Another thing that was so bad--- We brought a bottle of water. The seal was broken and the water was awful. It definetly was tap water. We then noticed all the bottles were not sealed????? It made me sick to think someone else had their mouth on that bottle."

I suspect the OP meant that he "bought" a bottle of water at the Bingo game and not "brought" a bottle of water to the game.
However, I really, really doubt that any group would reuse water bottles and sell them at any event. What does anyone else think?

My thought on this post was the word "new" Bingo at the synagogue with the emphasis on "new". They probably need to work out the bugs...doing it the 1st and even 2nd time could be a daunting task. I'd say give them a chance. Cannot comment on the bottled water as it's hear-say and not first hand experienced.

I guess the Synagogue has probably worked out the kinks since 2007.

I did not notice this was a post from 2007. I am embarassed at not noticing. How or why did someone actually go back that far to get it up to the front?

I also checked to see the latest posting from the OP. Their last post was in 2008.

I have always wondered why something like Bingo is played in a house of worship? It seems like a huge conflict of religious interest to me.
