Default Bikes & The Bridge to the Historic Side

Are bikes allowed on the big bridge to the historic side? A sign on one end says pedestrians and golf carts only. Thanks.

Bikes are allowed but I can tell you it is a pull if you are used to the regular paths. Easier to go across on the surface streets.

Yes, but the question is, should you? So narrow, sharp rise; carts coming from the other way may not see you in time.

There are a rare few folks who bicycle over the bridge. I can tell you they all have orange warning banners attached to their bikes that extend a few feet higher than their heads. This is a terrific idea, since if I'm about to hit the top of the hill on my golf cart, I can see that flag and know there's someone on the bike up ahead, and can slow down accordingly.

Carts coming from the other way don't have to see them. The carts behind them, going the same way have to see them.

If the sign says pedestrians and golf carts only, why would you want to do it? It's a death wish.

Exclamation

"Pedestrians" - Are golf carts to follow a walker up and down that bride, bad Idea for walking over that bridge.
That sign if it does say "Pedestrians and Golf Carts Only" should be changed to "Golf Carts ONLY". No room to pass one another on the 441 bridge.
I can see it now, an 85-year-old person trying to walk up the bridge with their push cart...

I'm a biker, and I could go over that bridge, but I don't. It's more of a death wish to do so. I cross the street on the surface, much safer.

I suggest you read the posts. They will be in the golf carts around you.
