Default Bison valley question

Anyone out there who lives in Bison Valley, the "family friendly" village???
I understand it is for workers of The Villages plus those with families who work at the Charter School??

A friend was using my computer today and came upon several homes for sale in Bison Valley. I don't remember getting that far over (to Oxford) when we visited TV. Is it down by the new Brownwood???

We noticed that although there is no bond, there is a private home owners association to which the amenity fees are paid.

Our friends do not have children and do not work in The Villages.
Can anyone live over there????? Can older retired folks live there??
Or.......primarily workers of TV? The homes seem larger, and the lots seem bigger as well.

They claim they are golf cart accessible to the shopping and dining at TV.
How far is Oxford? I just sent for our new 2013 maps of the new villages and new streets, however, it has not arrived yet.

Nothing cast in stone, but these friends are traveling down in April and will look it over. Just wondering what I could find out about Bison Valley.
The homes looked very nice and were on The Villages website.

I forget now which shopping center it said it was near to........but the name sounded familiar.

Do they have their own golf course over there????? Is that where the buffalo once were?

Back in 1965, when we were driving to Miami Beach, we drove smack through what is now THE VILLAGES.......and we remember a long stretch of the Florida Turnpike back then that actually resembled "Out of Africa".

There was not a lot of developement back in 1965 in the middle of the state.

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANYONE WHO CAN EXPLAIN THE VILLAGE OF BISON VALLEY as compares to a normal village in the rest of THE VILLAGES....which is for senior citizens....no children. Bison Valley says it is "family friendly".......

Appreciate your input.........

Bison Valley is a small (50-100) neighborhood of designer and ranch style homes. It is all ages and not solely for Villages/contractor employees. It is across from Crispers and can access the multimodal paths and golf cart to commercial areas.

No amenities of its own...no pool, no golf courses.

The MOST important thing to know is that it is not part of The Villages. Its resident do not pay Villages amenity fees and cannot use our golf courses, pools, rec centers, sports courts, etc.

The Villages developer built the homes and will market them for resale but they are not part of the Villages.

If your friends are seniors, interested in the Villages lifestyle, this is probably not one of their top choices.

Here is a map that will help you out as far as location is(the section just above the "A".

If you go to the "Search" feature here on the forum and do a search on Bison Valley you will find a lot of information.
