Default Experience with Century Link Prism

We are trying to make a decision about a provider for phone, internet, cable. So far from the prices we have been quoted CenturyLink Prism looks like it might be the best choice. Have any of you been using CenturyLink? Have you been happy with the service? What about the speed of your Internet access? Our alternate choice will be Brighthouse. I have the same questions about them. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

We have them...for over a year now and have been VERY happy! We had DirecTV for 15 years and switched! I think you won't be sorry!

We switched from Comcast to Century Link about two weeks ago. So far we have been very pleased. Good luck.

Our experience (in the last 2 months) was very negative. Just some points to ponder that they will not tell you.

1. Only two HD feeds at any time. This is a nationwide limitation.
2. They charge for any fax, incoming or outgoing.

TV pixelated so bad all the time we could hardly use one TV on HD at any time. I am not a lover of Comcast, however we are glad to be back with them. Got business phone, and internet with HD higher level package (no premium channels) and it is $45 less a month than Centurylink.

Just my opinion, I would never leave Comcast again.

We had this same experience with Prism. Switched to Directv. I've heard others that love it.

Make sure you get whatever they promise you in writing. I did'nt and am paying more now than I was with another company. They do have a pixilation problem that can sometimes drive you nuts when your watching something you like. That being said they are still better than dish tv having total blackouts when it rains.

Default Have going back to Comcast

Comcast was more money but it worked. Cenutry Link TV freezes channel voice moves to a new channel but picture stays on the old channel. Internet is iffy and WATCH their billing. I signed for one thing then when the bill came it was another. I won but spen 2 HOURS on the phone arguing with billing. I won but I'm going back to Comcast. Was waitng for my $100.00 gift card from Century Link which came yesterday. If your on the new side of 466A I understand they have fiber to the house. If so that may make a big difference but we go to copper in our area.

Comcast overall is best in my opinion but has very bad customer service and because of that a lot of people are "cutting off their nose to spite their face" so to speak! I've had my problems with Comcast and got very frustrated but with a lot of patience got "things" resolved. Our friends in TV went to Century Link----all kinds of problems and are now back with Comcast. I suspect that customer service is about the same----depends mostly on who you are lucky or unlucky to get on the other end of the phone line when you call with a problem. Patience is a virtue with any large corporation.

make sure you write down the persons name that you spoke with from century link prism and the date they quoted you the price, you may have to refer back to that when you receive your first bill, i did. also we havent had any problems with cable or phone, the internet is is alot slower then what we are used to, i guess it depends on how much you use your internet, if alot, it maybe to slow for you

??? we have centurylink bundled with prism. Our landline is used exclusively as a fax line and we have NEVER paid anything extra for faxes, 2 HD and 2 regular definition feeds at all times,, all TVs play fine...occasional weather related pixellation for short durations as with all the other types of providers and I'm paying $35 less than the closest plan that comcast offered...no premium channels but everything else, HD. 10 meg internet, unlimited US calling, 3 boxes, 140.00

We love it. We had Comcast, but our internet with Prism is faster and the tv is great.

May I ask, does that 140.00 include a DVR? Also, does that price reflect promotions that would expire later, and bump up the monthly bill? Thanks.

Default Brighthouse

When we moved to Sanibel in Jan, Century Link was over priced & customer service was less than stellar. Went with Brighthouse and are very happy. They installed an extra cable outlet and replaced a defective phone jack that TV installed at no charge! Century Link knocked on my door about a month ago with a deal close to Brighthouse, but wanted a 2 year commitment. I told them they were a little late to the game. You can cancel Brighthouse anytime without penalty.
