Default Blink Security Cameras

My Blink cameras are detecting motion, but not always capturing video. Sometimes, but not consistently. I have decent Wi-Fi (Xfinity) with 2 Wi-Fi extenders but still having issues. Blink support thinks it might be a network issue. I've done all the YouTube troubleshooting.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.

Xfinity IMO, does blink charge monthly fee? If so IMO need to replace unit rule out it being problem. Nothing like paying for service and not getting what paying for? As for xfinity you’re stuck….IMO of course.

Could be a bug or spiders both like our blink cameras and have to look very close to see a leg. If you are mounted outside need more than one camera in a row. Our first camera will go off but no pic, it’s not until the second and third. Our bobcat is very fast running along fence line. Mama bear and cubs set off all 3 cameras, sometimes stopping to pose

We have Blink cameras. Sometimes they pick up motion from trees or sprinkler when windy. Also insects, tree frogs and anoles will set them off. Our Ring doorbell also has activated with tree frogs and anoles especially at night.

Depending on when your account was activated, we have zero fees. New system last year at the lake house is $2.00 a month for cloud storage. Certainly doesn’t break even the piggy bank.

I can add cameras up to 10 per system with no increase with either system. I can also pack them up to another state no charge. Have been very happy with blink especially when we are away we can talk to our pet, who also knows how to activate blue light, to get our attention. We can speak to her, giving her direction, that her refrigerator feeder is about to open. The only thing Blink can’t do is pet her.

Yes. Blink $10/month unlimited cameras. Xfinity has been fine for me, but I don't have major internet requirements. Blink seems to think Xfinity is to blame. I'll have to call them.

It’s not your wifi. If you are getting motion detecting, the wifi is connected. Even on vaca mode with xfinity (lowest speed) I have clear pictures Where are the cameras located that are showing motion but no pic? What do you have the cameras set at for video? If you walk past camera does it show you or is the feed still blank. The batteries will also change the quality of video, especially if they are off brand. Blink is very good customer service give them a call. One of my cameras stopped pairing, they gave me how to fix, and then did follow up same day then a week later. You will just be spinning wheels with xfinity.

I agree. An insect crawling across the camera lens could be as large as a person-sized target standing in the driveway!

I have quite a few Blink cameras. Depending on where the camera’s are located and where you have the master module you may need to move the module closer or add a module. Mine is located half way between the front and back cameras. I did have to move it once. Also you can increase the sensitivity on the motion. I only have motion set to ON for certain cameras not all of them.

It was simply a matter of relocating the camera. For some reason(?), the camera did not like that location. It seems to be working fine now. Something must have been interfering with the camera's ability to record videos. No idea why.
