Not the left lane bs again. Funny think I NEVER seen someone pulled over or heard of someone getting ticket for slow left lane driving for being in left lane. I even watched officers follow slower car in left lane which cars were passing on right. All the driver has to say if pulled over I am going to make left turn up here

Speed is the norm so it seems. Go to Daytona, Go to the 500, wow speed we love it and we ignore the dangers and there is always the speed demon who has to be the show off. When I ordered my cart, in writing they had to certify, it would not exceed 20 mph. And that is fine and adequate. We are frequently passed at great speeds by those who are careless. It is very common. When does anyone in the Villages, police or sheriff give a ticket? Well not often enough, that is for sure. At just 30 mph you are moving at 44 feet per second, speed is dangerous, but those who love it need it so it seems. We really need enforcement, the officials are there but when will they do their jobs? Unfortunately, we need a major wreck, people maimed, kids killed. The American way is look the other way until the disaster strikes. Sad, very Sad. I do expect to get replies, and an attack my viewpoint by those who love speed.

I agree with you, in the context of golf carts. There is a time and place for everything, including speed. 30 mph IS dangerous, IN A GOLF CART designed for 15-20 mph. 30 mph in a M1A1 Abrams tank is pretty safe. It's all relative. 39 mph in a golf cart on a MMP with some blind curves, shared by cyclists and pedestrians is absurd. 45-50 mph in a car down Hillsborough or Pinellas, which happens quite often, is equally absurd. 45-50 mph on I-75 will get you run off the road, especially if you park yourself in the left lane. Personally, I find the speed limits in TV to be reasonable, but driving is more than a speedometer---take your surroundings into consideration and expect the other person on the road to do the stupidest thing imaginable because they often do just that.

Probably same people that do not have seat belts. Quickest way to slow down from those speeds is to hit a tree. Even from 20 mph the seat breaks loose and flys forward, passenger kisses the windshield and driver ends up somewhere after bouncing off the steering wheel. I came across this as EMT was taking him away and police were picking up the pieces.

He probably changed engines, there are kits out there for that. The problem with going fast is the short wheel base, too fast and they will start to hop losing control

I have been passed several times by golf carts while driving mine and I was going as fast as mine would go (definitely not even 33 MPH) and it's quite un-nerving. I thought we were all retired and slowing it down! I guess not

Not likely left turns on interstate highways. Left exits maybe, but no crossing on coming traffic.

Why, you might ask. Well, I have two left feet, so line dancing is out. Bad knees rule out cycling. Allergies prohibit me from owning a dog and I don't go to the squares, so seat saving in not in my cards.
